At World Nuts, sorting and quality control are essential stages of the production process, ensuring walnut kernel cleanliness, uniformity, and consistent quality. The process combines advanced optical sorting technology with inspections carried out by experienced, specialized personnel.

Following mechanical cleaning and kernel size separation, each category follows a dedicated processing line to undergo the appropriate optical sorting and quality control procedures.

The process includes the identification and removal of defective or discolored kernels and unwanted materials, followed by additional quality checks before the finished product proceeds to packaging.

AI-POWERED OPTICAL SORTING

Our facility is equipped with three optical color sorters incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) technology, each dedicated to processing a different walnut kernel category. These systems identify and remove defective, discolored, and undesirable kernel pieces, contributing to color uniformity and consistently high product quality standards.

FINAL QUALITY CONTROL

Following optical sorting, walnut kernels pass along a manual inspection conveyor, where experienced and trained personnel carry out a final visual quality check. This stage serves as an additional quality assurance measure, verifying that the product meets the established quality specifications and is ready to proceed to packaging.
